P. Venkat Reddy, AMIE, MDCA, is one such professional whose work in solar energy has expanded from India to international markets including Zimbabwe, New Zealand and Bangladesh.
With more than 14 years of experience in renewable energy and infrastructure, P. Venkat Reddy has worked across solar EPC, project development, financing, skill development and industry representation.
In India, he serves as National President of TSSIA – The Solar System Integrators Association. In this role, he works on industry collaboration, policy advocacy and capacity building while representing the interests of solar businesses and MSMEs.
His experience includes interaction with government and industry institutions such as MNRE, BIS, SECI, DISCOMs and State Nodal Agencies.
His international work has developed alongside his Indian operations. P. Venkat Reddy serves as Chief Consultant at Avitech P/L in Zimbabwe, providing strategic and technical consultancy in renewable energy and infrastructure.
He has also worked in advisory capacities connected with clean energy adoption in New Zealand and solar expansion in Bangladesh.
These international associations have given him an opportunity to understand the opportunities and challenges faced by renewable energy markets outside India.
At the same time, P. Venkat Reddy continues to lead businesses in the Indian solar sector.
As Managing Director of Red Rays Renewable Energy, he works across rooftop, ground-mounted, industrial and commercial solar projects.
He is also Executive Director of Priven Solar & Infra Pvt Ltd, where the work covers feasibility studies, project financing, detailed engineering, EPC execution and long-term operations and maintenance.
As Co-Founder of SHS Energies & Infra Projects, he has been associated with more than 1,000 projects across residential, commercial, industrial and government sectors.
His work also has an important education and skill-development component. P. Venkat Reddy has mentored more than 5,000 students and entrepreneurs and has worked with young engineers, ITI students and Polytechnic students interested in the solar industry.
He has also been invited to speak at Oxford University on renewable energy leadership, reflecting his engagement with international discussions around the future of clean energy.
Away from corporate and industry responsibilities, P. Venkat Reddy is involved in community service through the Lions Club of Vanasthalipuram, where he serves as Secretary. His social initiatives include education, skill development, health camps, rural solar awareness and employment opportunities through green jobs.
His professional journey brings together several areas that are becoming increasingly important to the renewable energy sector—technology, business, skills, entrepreneurship and international cooperation.
